Home Is Where One Is Most Needed & Not  From Where One Originates

What We Do

BODY & SPIRIT MISSIONS exists to bring glory to God through rendering high quality medical & dental care to those who cannot afford it due to being economically and socially marginalized within their own nations, oftentimes resulting from war and associated diseases, church planting where congregations are non-existent, facilitating secondary and higher education for teenagers and young adults orphaned because of war and deadly diseases, and then helping build Christian schools with great substance in the Bible so that men and women are prepared for leadership positions in their churches & in communities, developing public health projects that sustain personal hygiene & preventive medicine within South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda in East Africa, Ghana in West Africa, and Lesotho in South Africa..

Our example is Jesus Christ who says: "Go, report what you hear and see: The blind receive sight [we do cataract and other eye surgeries], the lame walk [we fix broken legs and arms and do physical therapy], those who have skin diseases are cured [we're good in dermatology], the deaf hear [we're audiology plus hearing aid coordinators], the dead are raised [can't do this one], and the good news is preached to the poor" (Matthew 11:4-5).  We love preaching the gospel.  Hey!  Five out of six ain't bad!  What do you think?  Doing this work is a spiritually rewarding experience.  Come along!  Start partnering with us, and you'll never have any eternal regrets.  We need your skills and abilities and resources via Spirit-driven generosity.

MEDICAL HUMANITARIAN MISSION WORKLOADS FOR 2010 are no less challenging than in all previous years since 2001.  Dr. Mike scheduled himself for bilateral cataract surgery with AcrySof Toric Lens replacement with an opthalmologist  in Fort Worth, Texas, during April and May where he'll also be traveling for the fund-raising purposes for Body & Spirit Missions, and liaison work for Uganda Virus Institute.  The institute was awarded a large research grant in late 2009 to develop an immunization preventing the dreaded Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).  Several USA-based laboratories are working in partnership with the Entebbe-located institute for this long-term project; and Dr. Mike continues helping to design a health sciences classroom building with offices and a new hospital for Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.

The top photo from July 2007 is of a six year-old boy beaten by Janjaweed terrorists, trained and supplied by the Khartoum government, in South Darfur Province one week before this photo was taken.  He was left for dead after witnessing his father and older siblings slaughtered and his mother gang raped; she survived to bring him and herself to us for treatment.  It's too hard to edit this photo from our web site, because it speaks volumes on behalf of those benefitting from this medical humanitarian mission.
